People have expressed a desire for a less formal/more personal format for the forum. Responding to that we have got a blogspot now at des-comp.net/blog . Its seemed for a moment that the forum and the blog have similar agendas and a peaceful coexistence is questionable. However I am not deleting any of them currently - I do feel that there are differences in the nature of their content - the descomp/forum is more serious/critical and would be a repository of more academic information (conference/thesis/research etc). It possibly will be more useful when reaching out to external alums and collaborators. The blog on the other hand is an informal platform for people to get together and talk about anything under the sun. I hope that we can develop/sustain general interest till the point we cross the threshold and websites manage to maintain themselves.
